I don't see anything especially political going on at Kroger. They are out to screw everyone. Your politics can make you seem to them a better bet as a slave, but even if they treat you sweetly they still want to make you a slave.
Kroger makes large donations to many left-wing organizations, and embraces a union for its employees that donates heavily to a party that is becoming increasingly socialist in nature.
