My store can't pass a mystery shop and I know why.

Only store I've worked at that can't seem to pass a mystery shop. I know why this flaky store keeps failing. After working at several high grossing key retailing stores I'm shocked at the b.s. that goes on in my current store. Here's why my store can't successfully pass a mystery shop:

The manger doesn't care. That's the start.

Learn by example. Half the managers don't care, won't do anything and won't properly work with employees so they do their jobs right.

Staff doesn't care because the manager doesn't care.

Staff seems to push the limits of the rules and boundaries of those rules to the extreme. Manager can enforce union rules but won't.

Staff is not held accountable for their actions so they do what ever the hell they want. When managers punish they punish wrong.

Half the staff doesn't seem to stay at their post and wonders off. There's 2-4 staff at my current store that just won't stay put to their assigned post and wonders off. Mean while their job duties go neglected.

So short staffed when someone needs a break there is no one at post or in department. We often have to call the manager to assist the customers after 10-15 min of waiting only to stair at a kiosk with no one in it. I don't know about you but I'm smarter than staring at a wall for 15 min. After 1-3 minutes I'd realize no one is there and leave.

No one seems to do their job duties properly nor correctly the first time. Only about 30% of the store is hard workers the other 70%, well don't get me started...

Employees call out more here than at other stores. Most of my coworkers call out 5-10 times a month and still manage to have their job 20 years later. We have any where from 2-10 call outs a day.

No one shows up on time and sticks to schedule.

There is no back up help for staff when someone quits, goes on loa, has medical leave, calls out sick for day, wants to go on vacation. This means quadruple work load and 80 hr work weeks. So staff becomes miserable and unhappy. So of course customer service drops.

Front end manager while he/she is a nice individual doesn't seem to have an uplifting, caring, positive work environment attitude. He/she has given up because the manager doesn't care so it's a ripple effect through the store.

Employees are not held accountable for their actions so they keep getting away with stuff that isn't even tolerable to company standards. At other jobs I've had only about 15% of the store would remain if they were required to really work and hold a job.

Company has been slashing hours repeatedly. I've never seen them cut so bad that we only have one cashier all day long. If even that and half the time it's the manager in the check stand and the employee is in self checkout if even that. The sco is doing so much to compensate for the difference we're failing mystery shops.

So instead of fixing this b.s. the managers harass the staff that actually do their job and bi-tch about how they're not doing it. I don't know about you but this cr-ap is why I don't give a fu-ck any more. I noticed the longer people work at my location the more depressed, unappreciated, demoralized they get. It's a ripple effect. I have stopped learning names because we go through so many employees it's ridiculous. Sorry for the rant but I just need to vent.

To add on:

I don't know about you but I'm about ready to file another ethics report. It's one thing to short staff it's another thing to have this much b.s. going on. I know the job isn't very attractive but when you are given a job fu-cken do it. Even if it's below you!

You should print this out and post it on the doors. Also set up an auto announcement over the PA for every 15 minutes. Just don't let anyone see you post it and set the announcement up.
