"opening checker, please leave the opening courtesy clerk alone. Do NOT call them unless AVSOLUTELY necessary. They HAVE to complete their opening duties in a timely manner. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding."
The reason being is that, the opening checker ALWAYS calls me, the opening courtesy clerk for the silliest things and it keeps me from getting my work done. We are not busy in the morning. Why cant they get items for the customer or bag?
Ohhh yeah you were in the wrong... the morning checker calling you for "silly things?" Like bagging and getting things for customers? That kind of "silly" things? If anything, that note will make the checker more annoyed than they already may be.
Rather than leave a note why not talk to management about it, because if I saw a note like that and I was the morning checker it would rub me thr wrong way as well whether you meant it that way or not.

Haha. Bet that checker was like wtf. But hey if it helps you get **** done so be it.
We have a similar checker. He calls for trivial things as well. 99.9% of the time he does NOT need a bagger...the rare 0.1% chance he does, HARDLY ANYBODY EVER answers the call because hes called for stupid sh*t far too often.

Lol thats funny as hell i can see him just calling and calling and no one comes haha
They already do that. One time he literally left his checkstand to find a bagger outside to bag his order. The courtesy clerk was on carts and he found him outside and proceeded to call him back in.
Technically you are not to post signs like this. Just put the closed signs up and keep the lights off. It'll force them through sco. I find people don't read signs any ways so it defeats the purpose. While I would love to have something like this too it would have to be kroger approved.

Yes you did the right thing. It took balls to do that.

I usually just ignored these calls if I was asked why I didn't come I would say I was busy. Also like today I saw the Utility Clerk answer his walkie that he was doing one. He meant a store sweep I usually ignored those calls also because it was usually some smart ass trying to be a big shot.

I'd discuss it with your FE supervisors because as a bagger you aren't the boss either.... whatever the FE supervisors say is the answer you get honestly.
