While stores are understaffed or hours being cut in stores they decided to give $1 million to five vaccinated customers and free groceries for a year to 50 customers. The $5 million plus the costs of the free groceries for a year could create more full time and part time jobs in the stores and/or put hours back into the stores. Customers are Krogers only real priority, associates just get a used bone to pacify us and get thrown under a bus driven by the customers. Guess what the 50 customers getting free groceries spending hundreds per week for a year will have to be recovered somewhere... like more hours cut from stores. Kroger executives and store management won't see pay cuts. Stores and the departments within them need more hours and at least more part timers to function.
Yep every day our new pickup division manager is sending bitchy emails saying that we're all using too much labor, but we can give away $5 million to customers to promote an agenda... hmm.
Customers definitely noticing the lack of support. No overtime allowed and skeleton crew starting to seem normal, though we are busting our butts every day. Lots of stress days being taken. Lots of coworkers planning to leave soon.
Please try to get the word out on applying with this dumpany. I don't want anyone working for them for a variety of reasons.

In reality, this positions only job is to manage two things: Costs/Wages, In-Stock Pick Percentage. Hell, he is taking it over from people that have either went to GO or got basically fired....you succeed, you move up, you fail out the door you go! With COVID not being a "valid" excuse any longer, a lot more will fall on his shoulders. Its not going to really matter after a while in this Division with Pickup, all the orders will be picked off side and shipped to the stores.

Blame corporate ass lickers and dept managers like the one in this very thread. Their greedy worthless lazy pos who only look out for themselves. Their against hero pay cause they did not receive any.
Mgmt constantly complains about overtime, but cant get their heads out of their backsides long enough to understand that if you need 40-60 hrs of OT to keep up, you probably dont have enough resources scheduled at REGULAR time! For what is spent in OT in just one dept., you could hire 2-3 part timers and have the dept covered like a rug! But hey, they have ALL the answers. What do we lowly associates know? Were only in it up to our eyeballs hour after hour, day after day, week in and week out. Every once in a great while, they stumble out of their ivory tower and poke their heads into the dept; but RARELY and then only to bark Condition!
They always complain about OT, because that is the "unknown" and an additional expense. If you haven't already figured it out, the company wants to control everything, OT is the seen as an the last additional expense that could be "managed".
