Yes, our department is 190 hours short of ELMS, corporate is so out of touch, told us we can't schedule overtime, but there isn't even enough bodies to cover the basic tasks. Still expect everything to be done, still treat what little workers they have like garbage, I can't believe how stupid they are, in turn, they continue to loose people who are doing the job of 3 people because they are still being treated terrible - and corporate continues to come and do walks etc.
A friend of mine works self checkout at Walmart. He is a full time Employee 5 years there. Now that Walmart is only accepting Debit only at Self Checkout he is so frustrated and stressed out. He said that there is a sign on the register an d it also shows on the screen debit only. He said customers will check out and want to use cash and say oh I didn't know it was debit only. And he said he also gets cussed out every day for no cash and also for no registers and not enough help. Nobody should have to be treated like this. People are so awful these days I know it is rough at Kroger and Walmart. he also said the registers that use cash if someone order is $60.75 that Walmart would now round off even if Walmart looses money. Don't rounding off make the change issue worse? I personally thing the Change shortage is a big fat lie.
The big stores are wanting to have no cash at all in the store. That is what I think and when I was working I know how much Kroger had. I would go in accounting to get the trash and I saw the safe open and there was stacks and stacks of cash and stacks and stacks of coins. I really do not know about now though but I do know the money truck does still come everyday. So really this change shortage makes no sense.
Now I can see a little why people do not want to work. They do not want to be treated like crap by the company or by customers cussing at them. It really stresses out employee's when you are constantly cussed at.

As long as corporate feels they have an endless supply of bodies to replace the ones that are leaving, they're not going to care. I don't know what kind of fantasy world they're living in but it all seemed to start around the time they started legalizing marijuana. The place is run by idiots.

Honestly if you believe what they say about there being a coin shortage then youre dumber then you actually sound. There is no coin shortage youre probably in on that scam with the other workers.
We are hiring like crazy because we NEED the help. Lack of people means nothing gets done as it should.
And also we've been cussed at too. I usually walk s way when I am cussed at ONLY because I WILL curse back at you, and I do t want to actually get onto a physical confrontation if a customer gets in my face cursing...which it nearly got physical in the past.
Yeah i work on the front end and we never have close to enough help, I love the people we have but everyone is stretched super thin and management blames FEM, poor lady is so stressed and exhausted she looks like she's falling asleep whenever she's FES for the day. I do my best to cover as many jobs as possible to help her not be stressed out but only so much you can do with only a few bodies to work with.

Part of the problem is a national labor shortage, with some people simple leaving the labor market. Also, you have to think of all the new APPS taking worker out of the standard job poll. Another thing to remember is the retirement of the Baby Boom generation, the company relied on this generation for the last 40 years, now they are retiring. The company wasn't really that good at retaining people in the 90's or since.....
