Anyone else tired of the computer writing the schedule and handing out shi-t-ty shifts? Our staffing is so bad it's beyond the point of a bad joke. One individual running each department is fu-cken bu-ll shi-t.
The most senior person gets full 40 (generally.)
The second most senior person gets remainder of what's left for a full 40.
That leaves 35 hrs or less for third and fourth senior.
If you're below that good luck getting hours. Our staff is quitting like flies because they can't get more than 15 hr work weeks. That's maybe 2-3 shifts a week if that.
The middle man on the select-a-schedule should not be getting the fu-cken closing shifts because that's the only way to get hours. Back in the beginning I didn't mind them but working until 11, 12, 1 am sucks.

You know...you dont have to go with what the computer spits out. We have some that almost NEVER do. EVER. For example; our UC was scheduled for 13 hrs via computer. He helped himself to an extra 7 hours for a total of 20. One of our baggers had 12 hours, he took an extra 4 hours for himself to get 16. Computer doesn't care. What it prints out is a guideline. And plus Kroger corp. Can afford the hours.

If **** its the fan, District/Division/Corporate will always say ELMS/eSchedule is a guideline. Yes, you have to play the game with what hours your allowed to schedule, but then always be on a hair trigger to get someone to come in early, stay later or even just come in on a day off. Part of the issue is try to cut expenses(labor), another is hiring and then add the unknown sales trends of COVID. With more and more sales to through SCO, over all FE hours will go down and down.
Yes, but if FE disregards ELMS and what e-schedule kicks out and works extra hours, not an overabundance, but reasonable hours, why would corporate pitch a fit?

If the sales justify the added hours they wouldn't, but in most cases people might not be adding the hours were they are needed. Corporate only sees ELMS hours in their corporate wide eyesight, if you had 5 hours to all stores that is millions of dollars. If stores use their best judgement and the hours are justified, nothing will be said. But with saying that, they use ELMS as the grading, the schedule is what they expect to use, not what really happens or what the sales actually justify.

Quit using Covid as a excuse/scapegoat
