Kudos for our store manager finally fixing things people have been getting away with for years. Kudos.
My location has the following issues:
Staff push the system to the limit and generally slip the cracks. Well no more.
Call outs are at an all time high. Management refuses to do anything about it. If you're sick take care of your self stop being the miserable @$$ to staff. Thank you.
Management is pissed that staff have been working for years with off the clock and on the clock work place injuries. Because they're too afraid to report it. Staff is realizing they don't have to be afraid to report issues now.
Staff shows up to work (all but small hand full) and goof off all day long. Nothing gets done and it shows.
Staff makes up their own schedules and gets away with it. No more. You will work what you are scheduled with. Don't like it tough luck you were given a job and you need to stick to schedule. You can't leave a side department and shut it down at 5 pm instead of 8 pm.
Coworkers are quitting like flies. It is not due to the pay or lack of hours. It's select individuals constantly harassing staff into quitting. They're finally getting called out for their b.s. Karma's a bi-tch ain't it?
If you fail to show a positive uplifting or tolerable attitude while on the clock you will be stepped aside and talked to about it. Thank god finally. We have a lot of miserable people continue to work and draw a paycheck but won't quit and/or move on because they're miserable. Managers have actually asked staff if moving them to a different position will help and whola it does.
If you have an ongoing medical health issue that's now life long; rather than repetitiously calling out you must have dr documentation to keep management from writing you up. If you need loa it will be given.
Management will be tolerable to the degree the union allows but no more than that. Thank god finally. Some people get away with too much b.s.
You are given a job people. You should do it and it's about damn time. This isn't a bird fly bye course. Meaning you show up for attendance and goof off all damn class. Kroger operates a business and expects certain expectations and qualities from it's employees. If you fail to meet these qualities you will be coached. Thank god the managers are finally cleaning out the flaky staff members. They will be gone within a few months. Oh, they're trying to use their union rights to fight but they've slipped the cracks so long their rap sheet of miss fits out weighs their complaining. I don't know about you but I come to work to work; not play. It's the 20% of staff that actually want to work that can't hold ground in a company that allows 80% of it's staff to goof off all day long. More than 70% of my coworkers would not survive a real job. I survived an A+ Fred Meyer store high on key retailing. I can and have survived real jobs before. I'm only here because of the 2008 crash and this is all that was hiring. Going on 15 years and I've out lasted a ton of people.
