Title says it all. I stopped working the opening cashier shift because of how nasty and rude people are in the morning. People get really pissy about there being no cashier in the morning. Good fu-ck! We'll call if requested. If you don't ask we don't know. Staring at the registers hoping someone shows up does little good. This sh-it is why I don't leave the sco podium in the morning. When our first cashire comes on between the hrs of 9 am and 11 am they let out the sco attend for break/lunch or off for the day. This **** is also why I don't work the evening shifts. No additional help after 8 pm. sco only after 7/8 pm. People get really pissy about no cashier being open.
Every damn morning we have a pissy old guy give us attitude about not going through sco then he gits pissy as hell when a cashier doesn't show up.
Every other day we have a lady expect the registers to be open before 10 am. She knows we'll call someone for her and if we don't she'll get pissy about how there's no register open.
I've noticed the same. First few years with the company were up front. Been working overnights for almost a decade now. Night time customers are generally much more lax than morning people.
People are not expecting a lot, but its kind of outrageous that there isn't a manned register from 8am/9am-9pm/10pm. Yes, I know staffing is an issue, but remember when it was indicated back in the day when "SCO" was being labeled an a customer checkout "Option", its no longer an option. I'm surprised they haven't decided to push back store open until 8AM, its not like there is any real sales from 5am-9am. In a good number of stores there would be more sales from 11pm-12AM then 5am-9am.

That really must depend on area, because around here the old people love shopping early in the morning. I feel like it's busier at 7am than 10pm some nights.
