Sorry, troll, but you have the wrong forum. This is about KROGER, where most employees have a hard time making a living from their paychecks (especially if they don't have any other source of income).
Work at another business or find a second and-or third job. Kroger does not pay a living wage.
Speak for yourselves, peasants. My $20/hr night crew gig affords me my own place just fine. New contract's coming up, too, and the crooked greed pigs running my state's union are starting off the negotiations with high demands. We'll see how much they get for us with stores dropping employees like flies.
Most people have 2 jobs or are jrnyman pay with this company.
You have to budget live or it isn't possible. Go back to school for a bachelor degree in a field that pays big bucks. Unless you're a saver and been saving since middle school retirement isn't going to happen any time soon. Most people are lucky to put $50-$200 a side each paycheck. If we're lucky.
Everyone lives differently and has different expenses, there is a simple solution......find another job, get educated and or figure what is best in your situation. If the $12.00 an hour isn't enough, become a Department Leader or find another job that pays more! Yes, everyone should be paid a living wage, but not every job pays a wage that everyone can live on. Just about every retail place is hiring, if you have to jump from retailer to retailer to get more $$$, that might just be what you need to do. But remember to always look at the bigger picture too, how many stores have positions were you could eventually make more?
Also consider that it takes no education and no experience to work in a grocery store, and therefore should not be expected to pay a career wage anyway. Get roommates, and don't be stupid enough to have kids while you have a ****ty job, or think you need a brand new car or the latest $1k phone.

Agreed, social media and everything else has basically make everyone feel entitled to everything else other people has. Again, everyone should make a living wage, but not everyone can live like everyone else. I'm not saying the price of stuff is right, but its all supply and demand. Everyone has the same thoughts, more money, its just the ones with less money are at the feet of the individuals with more money.
