 How much should someone get paid? What is the $$ you believe is the correct amount for a retail position? Oh.....when determining this amount please remember there would be 400,000 this $$ would effect, and determine what amount that would be for a year.  Also, remember most retain positions pay similar......

And (not quite on the subject, but related) has anyone been paying attention to how much the Pharmaceutical BIG companies are making BILLIONS AND BILLONS of dollars because of the pandemic, and because the government and the media is helping them sell drugs?

It's totally insane.  

I like to watch a variety of shows on TV including at least some of the local and national news (although most of it is biased in favor of Biden) and older TV shows like Andy Griffith and Green Acres.  I also like to watch Judge Judy even though she is incredibly mean, nasty, hateful and full of rage at many of the unlucky people who appear on the show.

But during most of these shows I see a CONSTANT PARADE of commercials pushing one DRUG or another, or another, or another. It is one drug commercial after another, hour after hour. It is APPALLING!!!!   These commercials are for products from Pfizer,  Merck, Abbott, Moderna, Johnson and Johnson and other huge MULTI BILLION DOLLAR CORPORATIONS. 

You don't hear that much anymore about simple, common-sense healthy eating, but its all about pushing DRUGS DRUGS DRUGS DRUGS!!! And they all have a long list of side effect that can range anywhere from a mild headache to death.

The commercials are so deceptive because everybody is always having a great time, playing tennis with their friends, driving along on a scenic highway, or running a marathon, eating out and socializing at pretty outdoor cafes, going on picnics at the lake, browsing cute little yard sales in the neighborhood, hugging their kids, sailing on the ocean.........whatever, while at the same time, the announcer is reading off a laundry list of all the bad things that might happen to you if you take the drug they are advertising!!!  It's NUTS!!

There are more sick people, overweight people, suicidal people, depressed people on the face of the earth than there have ever been, and it's getting worse. And the drug companies are not helping, they are making it worse.  They are encouraging a nation of Druggies, ZOMBIES and JUNKIES. 

Those drug companies are gradually taking over a good part of the economy and making BILLIONS of dollars, hoping that the majority of the US population is stupid.  I'm afraid they are right, and they are succeeding.   Sad.

In the best possible way, people are lazy.  But in the worst possible way, corporations are amoral sociopathic abominations that only except because the Supreme Court made a Grave Mistake.

The corporations are cheap because the shareholders require them to be.

The difference is that wages have been artificially depressed to the point where a single earner can barely afford a ghetto apartment by themself in most major cities. 

The pandemic is an artificial distraction, considering survival rates.

Precision rifles have never been cheaper (corrected for inflation), nor a subject of assault weapons bans.

(response) It is because you are watching "Old people shows" and the networks, affiliates and drug companies specifically target those shows to pedal their products. Watch almost ANY local station in your area or even a network from, say, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. and you will get at least four or five Medicare commercials. ESPECIALLY if you watch The Price Is Right.

 You're right, but to a limited point. The market saturation of everything Kroger-Employee was describing is a complete media black out. The demo you described is right---there's a lot more of the Big Pharm advertising going during those time frames---but one side political propaganda, One Percenter owned and operated corporations and all their trickle down economic effects have saturated everything in our country and culture.

As I type these words I don't even know how much their marketing has affected my daily orientation to the world and my life. It seriously makes one wonder, how much free thinking and free will do we really have? How 'original' are we? How much of everything we think and process and dream of and plan for and react to is shamelessly manipulated and directed----in favor of other people's desires? 

Gotcha thinking about that now, don't I?

 FrontEndSlave, Yes I know you are right about the Demographics and target audience stuff, and I understand that is the main reason why I see so many drug commercials, but I also watch some shows that are more "young people oriented " and I am sure I have seen some of those same Big Pharma commercials there to. Not to mention the new "public service" commercials urging everyone (over the age of 5) to get their vaccine and their boosters.
