I got 8 hours of holiday pay for New Years. Surprised the hell out of me that it's even considered a holiday. Cool.

I'm non-union, night crew. Couldn't tell you whether I lost my full time status when I transferred to the store I'm currently at, but being night crew I'm obviously working more than 40 hours.

I got paid for New Years too.  On our contract, we are paid Christmas after 1 year and New Years after 4 years.

You are more than likely considered full time because you were paid 8 hours holiday.  Part time only get 4 hours holiday pay per most contracts.

My manager is incompetent.  Because of this, I was asked not to come in a day I was otherwise scheduled.  I made the mistake of doing that, so I lost a day's pay for nothing while my coworkers struggled.

I'm ****ing breaking even at the end of the month working 40 hours every week, so now I'm 8 hours in the hole.  What a ****ing ****.

I work full time, in a non-union store.

I got 8 hours holiday pay, plus an extra $1.00/hr for working the holiday.

Every contract is different.

If you are new <6 months you won't see holiday pay until 6>. You get $1/hr extra for your holiday.    Woohoo $1/hr extra for a total of a whopping $8 for working the holiday. (I can't believe you people voted this b.s. Any person with half a brain would of rebuked this offer.)

Most contracts force you to work a minimum of 32 hrs for the total month. If you didn't work it you won't get it. Sort of says sorry active employees only. Tough luck.

Some stores you can also not call out the week of the holiday. This prevents call outs the day before.

If you did not satisfy these terms and agreements to get holiday pay you won't get it. Gotta be active enough to get it.
