A CEO should make MILLIONS, because they are in charge of the company. A worker should make whatever wage is in line with other retailers, etc. are in their area. If consumers want retailers, etc. to pay more, then they shouldn't worry about price and tell organization they will pay more for the goods and services. If wages are a real concern, why hasn't the local government, state government or federal government raise the min. wage?
I'm not saying workers shouldn't make a living wage, I'm saying calling one company out for paying the "going rate" is kind of BS. Why hasn't people looked past wages to see what the real issue is? Home prices in my area have risen 20% in the last year in my area, causing an increase in taxed, insurance and everything else associated with housing prices. Yes, prices increase, but people can't like one thing, and hate the side effects.
Example:
If China is a threat, why does the US continue to buy so much product from China? Why isn't "BUY US" being screamed, because its more expensive, and while everyone wants big paychecks, they want the cheapest goods and services they can find.

Not only is he making more money than she is, but he's happier and actually enjoys his job. I can't even imagine not struggling with alcoholism and depression and bill paying every single day.

The last homeless employee I know of was a deli employee who resembled a particularly unkempt version of Bubbles from "Trailer Park Boys". He lived behind the dumpster at the gas station across the street until a regular income allowed his drug problem to spiral out of control. Again.

Remember, most Department Leads and Assistants at $19+, topped out associates are $17+. Oh...if you ask anyone in any industry they will always say they are underpaid. Also, so its a companies job to give workers a living wage, healthcare insurance, retirement, plenty of time off, work life balance, educations funds and basically everything else in the world? Next thing you know, everyone will be asking why companies don't provide housing, childcare, transportation and cookies to everyone!
While this might not be a popular statement, you do have a choice on where you work.
