Leaving early.

We have this bagger who almost ALWAYS leaves early frim her shift. EVEN IF we are swamped. Shes a good worker, but it puts a burden on the rest of the associates. Even me. I am no longer a cc, but when she leaves early (85-90% of the time) I MUST finish her taks which puts me behind. I am a day-stocker and I have my OWN job to do. I've tried "not hearing" them and it worked until someone actually took the time to find me.

I asked her why she always left early, and she said "she didnt really.like working a full shift. (DESPITE her wanting my old shift of 6-3). So today, she works--sorry, was supposed to work a 6-3. Shes leaving at 10am. Which means, I will be lucky IF I can get ONE tote of product on the shelf. They need to figure something out soon, because I'm going to just start doing my job if this doesnt resolve.

Sooo...basically, carts are going to flood thebpsrking lot

Perishable go-backs will sit until ??? time

Spills will evaporate if wet, or if dry will sit

Go backs will pile up

Sweep logs will be unpunished

Customers will have to help themselves out

Price checks will not happen

Cigarettes, formula, and liquor will have to wait.

You, are an "amazing" team player!

I have MY OWN job to do. How is it my fault if they don't schedule someone to cover if someone leaves early or doesnt come in? That's right....its NOT my fault or problem. I need to keep my stuff going out onto the shelves to prevent blackstock and ordering.product that is not needed. Also, I order some product that we are out of. How can I scan out the tag on the empty shelf and order product if they keep pulling me from my job?

its really none of your business why that person leaves early. The time you wasted invading her privacy could have been spent on putting product on the shelf. But lets face it, day time stockers are absolutely lazy and slow and barely manage to even stock one aisle. They just pawn it off to the night crew. Thode empty threats you make to Kroger will go unheard. They pay you to work so work.

Its not your fault at all. But you work for Kroger not the other way around. If they need to put resources to get whatever done first then youre going to go there no questions asked. Management makes the big boy decisions. if it was the employees making these calls.. well there would be no more krogers.

I am NOT LAZY or racist. I meant to say backstock but auto correct decided otherwise.

And I sometimes have to do LAZY NIGHTCREWS job at finishing stocking THEIR products as well as my own. So yeah, I have a RIGHT to be pissed.

The only way I can get my work done is if I do just that and ignore what others didnt do and let them deal with it themselves. Including courtesy clerk duties. And thats what I am going to start doing today when I clock in. Let them dealnwith who is going to do sweeps and other front end tasks.

Lazy night crew huh? You couldnt even do half the work we do. Im pretty sure your fat ass would pass out mid way breaking pallets down. Hell you wouldnt even make it to the start of sticking the shelves. Thats daytime people for you though. All yall do is stuff your fat faces with food, take 11 bathroom breaks 20 minutes at a time, take 40 smoke breaks or just stand around talking half the day.

Report them. We fired a couple people at my store last year for making up their own shifts. Unless you're sick and ask to leave early it's considered job abandonment.

I can't blame a child who is barely being paid for wanting to leave early.

The real problem is that management is letting her.

Are they actually aware she is leaving early?  They might not be unless you tell them.

But be careful.  If she gets fired or quits, it might be a few months until they hire another courtesy clerk.  Might be difficult.

And for the record, I'd like to state that it's ok to be a lazy racist.  We'e elected so many.  If you are a lazy enough racist (with wealthy and powerful parents), you could even become president.

Or at least a senator, maybe governor if you're extra lazy.
