From the 2nd week of march 2021 through the 2nd week of june 2021 i requested vacations 6 different times. All were denied because they were understaffed! Even a personal day off so i could attend my daughters graduation was denied. I have worked 18 years for kroger! They fail to hire enough people to run our department so people can take their ****ing vacations. Ive been trying to take my wife on a vacation for our 25th wedding anniversary and these stupid ass store managers amd co-managers.denied my requests and then THEY take several vacations during that time. I have 4 weeks of vacation and 3 out of the 4 they made me come in and work DURING MY ****ING VACATION! It wasnt till october...my 4th vacation that i had to beg and plead for them not to have me come in. What the **** kroger?!!! Store management should be fired for doing this to me! I have filed a complaint with my Union rep and also called an attorney. They are abusing there power.

What department do you work in? Even if you're the only one who can do your job, they cannot deny you your vacation time. Besides, vacations are suppose to be locked in by a certain date. For my store it's April 1st. On that date the union steward is suppose to be given copies of every departments vacation schedule. That way if management tells you you can't go a certain week, your union steward can pull out the vacation schedule and show them that the vacation was approved.

After 18 years, he's put in too much time to quit now. He probably gets four weeks of vacation now and will be due to get another week when he reaches 20 years of service. If he's a department head, he's making over $20/hr. Then there's the health insurance. No, if you're going to quit Kroger, do it before you reach top pay or before you're eligible for three weeks of vacation. If you only get two weeks, you can still quit and go somewhere else and not lose anything since most companies give employees two weeks of vacation anyway.
There are are more good jobs available every where now than maybe there have ever been because of the shortage the plan-demic created. You 100% can find a decent, good paying replacement job now. No med benefits to it? Take out a medical card. It's ridiculously easy to do now.
If you're not going to do any of these things then don't bitch to us. There's nothing we can do.
