Don't do that over a job. Life is precious. You are young. Your future is just beginning.
I started working at Kroger when I was 37 out of desperation (bills and no savings). I am now a department manager and am thankful for my job.
Sometimes I want to step down and go back to being a clerk but not in the store I am in. I would be content as a clerk.
I always thought the Pharmacy was a decent job to have.
Life ebbs and flows, has Ups and Downs. You are at a crossroad. Great time to reflect and make life choices.
I suggest keeping your job in the Pharmacy while searching for a new job. Every new job has been better for me.
Do you want to work at a different store? Do you want to work in a different department? Ask a store manager about how to transfer.
Are you educated or educable? Find something in a career field that you will enjoy. Take night classes.
Summer is almost here. Maybe you need some sunshine to cheer you up. I always get the winter blues and they clear up right around this time of the year.
Don't let a job suck the life out of you. Stand up, fight and make changes to improve your pursuit of happiness.
Make positive influencing friends. Make time to spend with them in person. Don't do all your relationships thru social media.
i hate working at kroger. i work in the pharmacy. kept telling myself it's temporary but i've been here four years now almost.
in my early thirties and feel like life is over
I was 15 yrs in retail and that entire block of my life had me feeling like you described.
Thankfully I got fired---that was my only salvation from horrible life choices at that time, when my thinking was still screwy---and I've since moved on, up, tried different things, switched em out for better, and today I continue to improve.
For one thing, don't stay locked into this thought that you have to stay on the same job for 40 yrs, get your gold watch and retire. It can be one job; it can be 100. With 401K rollovers you can cash / carry as many different places as you want.
It's your life. Your choices. Do what works best for you. Reatail sucks on every level of the game---they own you 24-7/365, that's what all that 'open availability' mandate sht is about.
There's a better life waiting for you. Just make the moves and be ready to sacrifice a little bit of ok for a lot of much better
You aren't really going to make any less money anywhere else. Start putting applications in.
Even if the result is the same old nonsense, you might be able to swing some experience pay or better benefits.
With that, you might be able to afford further education, therapy, or medication. Even if not, such a life shakeup can roll the dice in ways you might not expect.
If it's really over, it would be a shame to go alone. You could bring a least favorite customer, coworker, or manager, sure. If you're lazy.
Or, you could visit a corporate office. Maybe you could even share your displeasure with Rodney himself. Or maybe even a senator or congressman.
What I am trying to say is that you have more options than you know.

Careful there. I know you're kidding, but the FBI may not see it that way. You just advocated somebody commit acts of domestic terrorism/murder.
