Customer: Do you have any angel food cakes?

Me: They're on that table behind you.

Customer: Yeah, but those all say fat free.

Me: Angel food cakes are naturally fat free.

Customer: Yeah, but they didn't use to say that.

A lot of retail customers are lonely losers looking for any reason to angle staff and engage conversations. That's why you'll sometimes find yourself in these absurd exchanges.

The most vulnerable targets I feel sorriest for are the young females. Yall have to deal with a growing number of old men who really believe they've got a shot at you. They really think if they just come up with the right line or if they can con you some way they gon get into that cooch. This alone is why I'd never wanna work the sales floor as a young chick.

Many yrs ago I was on a retail job doing a function that had me locked in position at the front of the store. This guy stood right there badgering the sht out of me about religion. No matter how many times or how politely I told him I wasn't tryna hear it he kept after me, all ****y, knowing I couldn't leave. Except that I did. The manager on duty tried giving me sht about it and literally told me I had to 'indulge the customer' (this b itch was a bucket of human sht)......until I told her I'd name her personally in my suit from the ACLU.

Any way, yea. Retail workers hear a lot of stupid sht.

You should have said "I dont follow that religion over and over getting a bit louder each time ending with a PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE!" even if you do follow the religion.

He doesnt need keep badgering you about it. I've pissed off ALOT of people who kept badgering me about sensitive topics. To the point I had to have a sit down with management and union to discuss what was going on.
