I wouldn't be surprised if every employee that work at kroger went on strike. Like almost everyday another store is on strike the n the next, then next, then next... Etc
Never happen. Notice how you never see ANY compamies strike any more? Those unions done been bought and paid for. They're there for one thing only: to exort their dues $$, and keep appeasing the companies by ensuring enough workers keep being productive. That's it.
While Union have a role, they aren't the same as they used to be. Previously, Unions got the 40 hour work week, workplace safety rules, and raised the previous low wages. Now, everything is PR based and in reality the big bad companies are not like the previous were, you don't have the Ford, Rockefeller or all the older business titans, all profits basically go to stockholders.
Only unions can authorize strikes. I've seen single stores try and they fired all the staff or wrote them up. Must be union authorized.
Yes working for 500k corporations sucks. Most of us are slaves to health insurance or the paycheck. Mostly due to the fact there is zero poverty net in this country. You sound young. Wait until you can no longer mooch off your parents. And realize how shi--tty reality is. Wait until you have to be the soul income earner for your house hold. I'm thankful I own my home debt free. I just put money away in my rainy day funds for when cra--p breaks and that's it. 1 paycheck goes towards bills. 1 towards food (damn inflation). 1 for those annual large bills. 1 for savings or casual spending.
