I've worked at Kroger previously, recently got hired again some months back. I had an accident in June that required me to be off work and to have surgery, and I tried to be really proactive about getting all my ducks in a row to make sure I had a job when I could work again, but I'm a little concerned I had the wrong information from the start. This whole process has been really obtuse to be honest, I'm not surprised by that but it is annoying.
I went through MetLife at my boss's request and they had me fill out paperwork for FMLA and short term disability, did my very best to cross all my Ts and dot my Is, HR says they have never received any LOA paperwork. My doctor definitely finished their portion of paperwork cause I have a letter saying I was denied for FMLA and short term disability. That's kind of neither here nor there, I was just past my 90 days and didn't anticipate getting any kind of money, but at a minimum I want to be sure I did everything I was supposed to.
My store's HR manager is kind of a pain to talk to, I've reached out to our union rep but haven't heard a response, can someone just point out if I did anything obviously wrong? Supposedly I'm hearing back today on whether or not I'm actually allowed to come back with limitations despite already being schedule to work tomorrow.
You do realize most the people in here sniff their farts and eat colored markers, right?
I dunno, I'm pretty stupid and I don't think it's that hard. Really it just boils down to "Hey did anyone else's LOA go like this or did I mess up"
Lol nice response. wish I could help but I have no idea. You really need to put some pressure on that HR or union rep. I swear the union is just trash never there when needed only there for you to sign up and thats it.
