Being a department Head for this company has been the worst of all my experiences. The hiring process is so slow that you never really feel like your ever going to get any help. they Dont hire anybody with the slightest mark on their background so you dont get qual associates whenever you do get a new hire. The store managers are puppets for the dickhead dms. This is the most Consistently understaffed company I have ever worked for every store and every department here is going through the exact same struggles the store manager say hey we understand that you are shorthanded but get it done get it done. Its honestly mentally exhausting.
Kroger is always behind the times. "understaffed" in my experience is pretty new. My department has been understaffed for about a year and we finally got another person. but because of some stupid overtime deal they have with my 10th, yes i said 10th "supervisor" in 5 years they are about to FIRE an actual good new hire, and transfer departments another one.
