I deal with it on regular base. The customer blame me for not knowing why their ebt ran out of money and asked me where did the money go... (Yet they use their ebt at their own will and manager be blaming me).
I worked in retail for many years and this issue alobe is why I always refused to be a cashier. Just being stuck in one spot for hours on end dealing with the dregs of humanity was something I would never put myself through.
Overall, working in retail can completely destroy what ever compassion and empathy you many have had for the human race. Ditto for the holidays.

Lucky for me I dont have to cashier everyday but I know the feeling. Store im at now has a good number of blacks that come in and pretty much all of them ebt users and sone scammers cant seem to maintain knowledge of their balance. One such black cried about it and I told them what do you want me to do? Its your card figure it out. They waste it on unnecessary items and just squander it. Such entitled crooks

The part that bothers me most is that just about every single EBT dollar is spent on junk food, sugary drinks, and tv dinners. And all of it is expensive brand name.

Exactly. Their giving out to high amount of food stamps. People like that should only be able to afford the off brand items. If it tastes like shit oh well get a job then.

People think just because the card slides it's free. Not so. Not everything is covered under those cards and this is where your wic check training comes into play. It hopefully taught you well what is covered by the program and what isn't. Sorry people but fish from the fish department ain't covered by the card. Only canned tuna. That's why it never comes off.
