Like eggs, butter, some can goods, sugar and toilet paper?
Also lets not forget about having no workers. For the last few weeks Ive been the only day shift grocery worker stocking shelves from when I clock in till 1pm then my manager shows up or they move someone from front end or pick up to help me out.
Most Customers feel entitled to say how we dont do **** or why are the shelves empty? Only a handful has appreciated what I can do. Especially if Im on my own.
I feel you. We did hire a few people at my store. They seem pretty solid so far.
But yesterday we were short. I had to work our drive up and go by myself, and do GMC at the same time. Our drive up and go lead even asked when I was off lunch. Being as I was exhausted on lunch I was "nice" and let him actually work the station in which he is supposed to. He wanted me to come back early and he wasnt too happy when I politely declined and showed uninterest.
I still had to finish GMC

You did the right thing. ---And never skip your breaks, either. Their lack of staffing is their problem, not your responsibility.
