My time is also failing to pay employees correctly. You probably don't follow reddit kroger or this thread. It's been a common complaint.
The only time I know to be negative hours is if you did something that is making you pay back the company. Say for example: I know once upon a time a c.c. was caught stealing. They knew he was too poor to pay them back so they made him work it off. Then they fired him. They only did this due to his disability.
Until the company removes kronos time clocks at the store level I will not let my time handle my paychecks. One day that will come but not any time soon. Kroger knows not everyone can afford a smart phone even dumb cheap smart phone. In addition to the fact that that there is not enough zebras at the stores for every employee. If there are employees often fail to turn them in and they go "missing."

We're on My Time and we still use time clocks. They can't take them out because you have to be able to punch in as soon as you arrive. If you are scheduled to come in at 8:00 and you get there at 8:00, you should be able to punch in without having to search for a Zebra or a working computer terminal. Then there's the problem with punching for breaks and lunches. They can't make you buy a smart phone and if they gave Zebra devices to everybody, there's no telling how many would get lost or broken
