If it's the store manager telling you to run register then - yes, they can do that. If they are only moving females then - yes, that can be considered discrimination. The only people the store manager can't move around are the meat department people; they are on a different contract.

Where in the Kroger policy handbook can I find this?

It's under "needs of the business".

Is this allowed? Im a grocery clerk and they moving me and two other females to front end. Is that discrimination? To only move females to front end?
It depends on whether or not all three of you being female was the deciding factor in why you got moved. Could it be something else like availability, seniority, ability to do the job, getting along with your co-workers? Are you all the only females in the grocery department?

No one told us anything besides they switching ppl from other departments as well. Like no read why for. The other 2 are new hires. Ive been working grocery for over 7 months and no issues. They only said sue to staffing in front end but couldnt yall get men to get on the registers? Also I dont fee comfortable as a cash dealing with money.
Just do it. There's no a job any where in the wold that gives a rat's a s s if you're not 'comfortable' doing something that's clearly in the job description for everyone.
Quit trying to angle your way out of this. The picture you paint is of you and your female buddies spending most of your shifts out of sight, talking and goofing off. You know you won't be able to get away with that up front.

No one goofs off. I do my job and help train. I just want to know why and who can I talk to like union or so bro.

Ask the shop steward in your store. It has to be contract legal if they are doing it to other departments too. Not all union contracts are written the same.
"Needs of the business" was added to our contract a few years ago and it gives the store managers an excuse to do many things.
My store has always pulled people from other departments to run the cash registers. Never made them switch departments tho. Your store staffing must be a mess.
I am curious how many people were on day grocery, Male?, Female? and how many people from other departments were moved. And, how many were moved to nights.
I'm curious why, just cuz yall perceive this to be a chick, you're just a-RUNNIN' to 'her' rescue.
I'm stickin' with my 1st response. I think this is someone just tryna get outa work.
I am curious out of curiosity. I have a few coworkers that should be courtesy clerks instead of grocery clerks. I am not even sure if they could handle that job tho.
Kroger likes to make abrupt changes like this so they are probably not breaking any rules.

I just know that HR may have a meeting to discuss about certain management due to over 40 complaints on them. Yet when we ask management they just bring up excuses.
