Our floral manager retired a week before Valentine's Day. Store management had known for months she was retiring but waited until a week before her retirement date to start looking for a replacement. You can't train someone to run a department if they've had no experience. I don't care how many Zebra scans they come up with. Nothing replaces hands on experience. So they ended up having to bring people in from other stores to work Valentine's Day and the day before. Incidentally, the floral manager that retired took early retirement because the store manager and two of the co-managers tried to micromanage every little thing.
