Missing 1200 in checks, so I QUIT.

As a Kroger Cashier I honestly didn't have much to complain about, the customer service aspect doesn't bother me and as long as I'm doing carts it wasn't that bad... UNTIL

I stopped receiving my checks in the mail for 3 weeks!! after 3 weeks, an old check from a week i worked 14 hours came...?

(FYI I had been trying to get direct deposit to function for the entirety of my employment at Kroger and each time I put in a cards information it deletes it the next day)

So anyways, after I got that last check, the checks started coming regularly and I thought that maybe those weeks were just coming slow, NO, months later and i have not yet received those missing checks.

And it starts again, I'm missing checks for 2 weeks then i get the smallest check i could have gotten, then its back to normal, then I miss 2 weeks etc. etc. etc. etc.

I mentioned this to my supervisor and HR rep but nothing really happened (i would have told management but there had been tons of management shifts during this time) I was told to make a list of missing checks but the checks I got didn't match up with my pay-slips.

After 2 weeks of trying to figure out my pay-slips I am sick and tired. I type out a resignation notice effective immediately with a list of the pay-slips I believe I am missing and turn it into my manager (that I had to chase around the store) He said he didn't think he could fix the checks that day so he said he would call me another day to sign paper work. So, I leave. As soon as I sit down in my car the general manager calls me back in very angrily.

This guy told me to sit down and then stood over me yelling and lecturing me for about 30 minutes. That is ridiculous. He was bullying me and making me feel like an idiot instead of trying to help.

I AM DONE with this store and this company, I will absolutely not tolerate being spoken to this way. That is ridiculous i should NOT have to fight for my paychecks and an adult man should never speak to a teenage girl that way.

also. HE CALLED MY MOTHER?!?!?!?! what gave him any right, that is not the purpose of the emergence contact.

Anyways I don't really know what to do from this point, it has been a week and I haven't received a call to go in and sign the paperwork to get the missing checks.

So glad I quit on the spot I could not handle another 2 weeks of bullsh*t from that bully.

They probably will not call you back hoping you will forget it and go away.

If you are absolutely certain that you were shorted pay for hours worked, file a complaint with the Wage and Labor department in your state.  They might investigate and pressure kroger into paying you.

You should have just stole food and sh-it instead of quitting. Maybe take a dump or two in the break room. Drop a turd in the fridge label it meatloaf and put a persons name on it who works in the store you despise on it. Its not even stealing really youre entitled to it if they owe you funds anyway.

We don't receive mailed paychecks.

The yelling and lecturing is realistic, but mother-calling is not.

Please troll harder.  It's not difficult.

Can I speak to your manager please?  Is he hiring?

I actually work here, so I can do a better job than you.

Tell me about the Zebra.

At all levels, it's deeply and profoundly horrifying.  I've been talking to guy who wants to do a documentary.

If I were a true professional, I'd be able to pay your mom.

And if she were a true professional, I couldn't afford it.

Only one of us gets our money's worth.

Difference is, I'm so good she forgets to charge me for the balloon and microwave.

Guru is right. Provide full documentation to the authorities. Don't accept any communication from your former employer unless that too is being documented in full and then give that to the authorities. Never set foot in that madhouse again.

Your description of the situation sounds typical. You are clearly destined for better things.

Dude file a union pay grievance. They'll audit your punches and correct it. When they switched to the my time system it was totally mucked up and I'm saying it nicely. We all filed grievances to fight for missing pay. Don't just quit they win.
