today a floater pharmacist was working and I was doing data entry
she sent a prescription I entered back for having the wrong doctor. I looked at it and asked her why she sent it back because I thought Id entered it correctly
she said the doctor who signed it was different from the doctor I chose. I then realized my mistake because the doctor on the typed font on the prescription was different from the one who actually signed it; easily understandable mistake
i tried explaining it to her why I chose the wrong doctor and she took it as if I was arguing with her
I told her not to snap at me and she said stop asking stupid questions - i told her she cant talk to me like that and she said shut up and get over it
she proceeded to call somebody over her to ask if she could send me home
i continued working for about half an hour and then the other pharmacist (who is a permanent staff member) came and told me she was making me leave. I said Can she do that and he said yes
then she came over because she heard me talking to him and tried to start arguing with me so I raised my hand to block her face from my line of sight telling her I have nothing to say to her
so I cleaned my area and put my belongings up and clocked out (it was extremely busy and we were short staffed btw)
I called a coworker to chat about it and went to the gym in the same shopping center to get some water then I called my department manager and left a voicemail; he is on vacation
then I called another coworker and she advised me to talk to the lead technician as I wanted to go ahead and make a report against the floater pharmacist
she told me wait to hear from my department manager and then if not try to get with the district lead technician and she said she didnt think there was anything they could do
then i talked to another coworker and she told me to go back in and talk to store management. They were gone for the day but I went in the office and wrote down a detailed statement of what happened including witnesses
i also requested they pay me for the time it took to be on the phone with manager and lead and also for the time it took to write my statement
Ill see what happens tomorrow when I talk To store management but anyone know what else I can do?
i didnt deliberately aggravate this person and I understand its busy and people get irritated but I feel like she was totally in the wrong
because of this I lost out on more than an hour of work

This is where you made your mistake. From what you've said, there was no reason for you to explain why you typed in the name of the wrong doctor. If I had been the pharmacist, I would have interpreted your response as trying to make excuses. You made a mistake. Just acknowledge it and move on.
Sure, I made a mistake and just about anyone else working my position would have easily made the same mistake (its uncommon to have a doctors name typed in the corner then signed by a different doctor). Were usually looking for the name of the doctor in print rather than their signature since many of them are illegible.
i was genuinely asking her why she sent the script back because it looked like Id entered it correctly
i acknowledged my error once I understood but she was thinking I knew the whole time and was just being difficult. Thinking that she was very rude and yes I felt as if I needed to explain how I made the error and that it was a genuine mistake
she clearly escalated it and everyone I talked to who heard what happened agreed she was in the wrong

zero mistakes is expected in this pharmacy industry. Asking for another set of eyes is appropriate when needed.

I think you did an awesome job. Don't let these. Floating idiots control you. You clearly explained your reason. if she took it as you arguing that is her problem. I would tell her to get on her ship and float back to where she came from. These idiots would not abuse me especially if I am older.
