I'm use to hrs going up and down depending upon the time of yr but hrs are so reduced that it's like 1.5 persons per department on duty. Doesn't matter the size of department you get 1 maybe 2 during prime time and that's it. I roughly average 34-37 hrs a week and now down to 28-34 at best, at best. This b.s is why you kroger can not keep staff. Kids these days do not see this as a livable income. People just starting out in grocery often quit by yr 2 or 3 because they realize how shi--ty the job is and don't want to suck it up long term. Most don't want to suck up the long haul to jrnyman pay which is livable. Due to hr games of kroger keeping staff wrongfully at lower wages doesn't keep people; it looses them. If this job wasn't a brain dead $25/hr job (25% higher than most local jobs) I'd probably leave just like everyone else.
Anyone that goes into this like of work: Avoid the front end. It's sh--it.
