Fuel lead took our chair away.

So I work in fuel and our fuel lead decided yesterday that our chair in the kiosk should be taken away because someone was sitting while serving customers.  Ive been to other Kroger fuel centers and the clerks were always sitting, Ive never heard anything about us not being allowed to sit.  I have back/knee problems and standing in the same place without moving for hours is going to be absolute torture (Im already starting to hurt as I type this and my feet have gone numb).  Also, we have a person working out here who is disabled.

This is ridiculous and I know its unfair, but Im not sure what to do.  From what I understand, its the fuel leads bitchy impulse decision and Im not sure if management has anything to do with it.  Should I complain to them first or go straight to the union?

Just bring your own stool. If you get a doctor note as well, there is little, actually nothing they can do about it. As long as you are performing your reg duties then what does it matter if you have a stool or not?

Put in for a transfer to another store that allows employees to sit on a chair or stool in the fuel kiosk.  I just have one question.  If the lead took away the chair because someone was sitting on it, then why was there a chair there in the first place?

I did take it to management and they said that its apparently a rule at other stores, although Ive never actually seen it being enforced.  The lead is just being an *******.

No goddamn idea.  The fuel lead has been here for 6 years and he just now decided that were a bunch of lazy ****s who dont deserve to sit even for a few minutes.  Also, I dont think they would transfer me to another store because theyre hurting for employees here.

Again just lazy and using these supposed back problems as an excuse to sit down. If just standing and pushing buttons is soooor hard then quit. Associate entitlement is unreal.

I am in the Local 1996 Atlanta GA area and ALL our Fuel Centers have chairs. This sounds like a fuel lead on an ego trip

Management has outright stolen our chair two or three times the entire time I've been out here.

A previous store manager caught me sitting on a milk crate, yelled at me to throw it in the dumpster, and threatened to write me up next time.

I just bring my own chair and put it in my car at the end of my shift.  **** it.

Contact ethics board I believe you are allowed one for resting. Middle finger them if they object.

You are allowed a rest stool for breaks and lunches. This is violation of this rest break law. Please go to your union rep.

I've seen many a staff sit for transactions and yrs later they still do it.
