They keep scheduling me early lunches. Why? I NEVER take an early lunch. I work a 9am-6pm or a 10am-7pm so why schedule me to go 3-3½ hours after I start? It's stupid. I am not hungry and ready to eat at that time. So I change it and go 4 hours after I start.
What is the purpose of going after 3 hours to lunch?
Lunches are normally calculated by the computer at "off times". It does the early lunch thing far too often and has been doing it for years. Everyone hates it. >_

If they're doing this all the time please contact union rep. Except in departments with a lot of staff you can generally go when ever. They do this to screw you over one break. Most of us just take 2 tens on the other side. If you're in the front end they do expect you to go to schedule because if you go out of order someone else might not get a lunch.
I lost a lot of weight when I started going to lunch when I was hungry not 2 hrs in. Legally they can schedule you as early as 3 hrs in but this also screws you out of a first break. Just take 2 tens on the other side. If allowed most of us take a 20 min break later.
That's why I don't follow it. It's stupid. But I can see them doing this to screw is out of a break. If they go anal about me changing my lunch, yeah, I'll take my lunch after 3 hours...but you can believe that I will still take my 10. Even if I have to go and hide somewhere.

What dept do you work? If you are a:
courtesy clerk then you have a bit more leway. Customers can take groceries out themselves if they must and no one is offers. (Yes offering carryout is STILL a thing...at least where I work) checkers can get ciggs or liquor if need be, also get items as well, clean messes and price checks.
Click list can pass off zebras and store cell phones to the FE manager. They can do picks and deliveries if trained. If not, then orders will be picked late and delivered late. (Unless they can find the shopper and convince them to clock in early; we have one guy who refused to clock back in early to do an order that was going to be late. He no longer works in our dept...that's not the reason we booted him pit though)
Dept staff can shut down their dept for their lunch. Booth does it, and the world doesn't "end."
Checkers MUST take lunches on time, early or not. It throws all the checking staff off kilter if one checker decides early lunches are too early for him\her and goes later.
