Thief stole money out of register then got mad when caught
Permalink

Customer took some cash out of the register till today. Either someone didn't close it properly or they worked at nother store. If they did, they don't anymore...as they left we called the police. They got caught and begged my manager and me not to press charges. Management decided to and had a big grin as he did so.

The two thieves began screaming and cursing inside the police car at me and the manager. Too f*cking bad. You did something foolish and got caught. There is absolutely not a d@mn thing you can do about it.

Hopefully corporate gets better security than we currently have

 Associates steal more than customers.

It is strongly believed to be a customer. That means someone didn't close out the till properly. With that said, the employee responsible for that till may face severe disciplinary action. (Depending on if said employee is well liked. Everyone knows there is favoritism going on in stores)

There should be only one penalty for thieves: death. If you're an adult and you steal from someone, then you are of no use to society.

There does need to be sone kinda severe punishment for sure. Im not sure you should get death over stealing a candy bar but a home invasion? Or smash and grabs in department stores or gas stations?stealing some ones car? Then yes that should be punishable by death. It happens far to often and needs to stop.

This is why you secure your till when you even walk 10 paces away. If they did it when you had it open and they shoved you aside then that's not on you. If your pass code was the assigned default one that everyone knows even some customers then you're at fault. If a customer broke into till with a crow bar you're not at fault.
