Have you guys seen this?

https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/major-retailers-say-shoplifting-is-a-huge-problem-so-at-least-one-is-now-considering-removing-brand-names-from-its-shelves-altogether/ar-AA1gb3rA?ocid=hpmsn&cvid=809c5e64e94e4e82a738436c71b3f6a0&ei=50

Maybe stores should be doing this instead

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/opinion/instead-of-pursuing-shoplifters-the-big-supermarkets-should-use-their-record-profits-to-prevent-food-waste/ar-AA1gb34h?ocid=hpmsn&cvid=088268d552eb4cd5b28041c68d73494d&ei=33

Has it all come to this now? Thoughts?

The news always go on about "record profits" but I'd like to see what the normalized profits calculating inflation actually are. I wholeheartedly believe that if companies paid a living wage most people would stop shoplifting altogether, but they always blame society and act as if it's not a problem they could fix.

Sure let's raise wages and a loaf of bread costs $12. How about more work and less playing on your phone

The solution is simple...removing name brands IS NOT going to cut shoplifting. Just like "superior customer service" by greeting all customers will cut back shoplifting. That is about as effective as a wet match underwater. Except the wet match has more of a chance of working. No, what WILL cut back is HANDS ON security that is NOT afraid to put hands on someone if needed. Then shoplifters will see we are tired of their crap. What's next...do they need someone to throw them into a parked car or slam them on the ground to send a message?

With all that, some stores such as Wal-Mart are going even further than thatLook at this!

Imagine caring this much about a huge company's shrink... they are using your labor to rake in obscene amounts of money while paying you peanuts. Companies like this have destroyed mom and pop stores across industries. Genuinely, are you actually thinking about what you say or is your brain just on autopilot?

Lol thats ridiculous but if theyre gonna do that then make it count. Have some damn harsher penalties for stealing. But theyll just go to different stores to steal so. Everything just needs to switch to online ordering and have it home delivered or pick it up yourself

The merger could be good could be bad. Time will tell. I'll give them a year or two then see if it is time to give up my 15 yrs employment with this company. I mean piggy wiggy bought our company and I honestly don't have faith in a company that has the name piggy in it none the less piggy wiggy. Sorry but that's two yr old talk.

Before 2000 people use to be afraid to steal because they knew there was a chance of getting caught. Now with new policies people don't give two f's and just walk out with ****. People that use to half a$$ attempt at buying items know this and don't even attempt any more only to know their ebt  card gets declined due to lack of funds or miss management of funds.

People don't even try to steal any more they just go in get what they want and leave. I can't tell you how many people later at night I just see walk in and fail to go through register (year right it's 100% intentional) then leave. Come on that's a thief. I'm glad my loss prevention gave us a qr code to report things to so I'm reporting things more regularly now. I often can not see all 6 factors that requires them to be positive for theft but I often see people shoving items into their bags or pockets and that's good enough for me.
