How much is too much? Coworker requests shift swap every week. Generally I don't mind if the individual is reliable as I've been on the short end of the stick a few times. I don't mind to a degree. I have a few coworkers that want to change shifts almost every week. If they are reliable and I am not doing anything I generally don't mind. However it is getting a bit exhausting being asked every week. I have a lot of appointments outside of work and many places prefer 48-72 hrs advanced notice to  change or cancel.

These people that are asking to swap shifts, did they put in requests to work a certain shift?   I might be willing to switch shifts with someone if the following conditions are met: 1. It has to be a one time only thing.  2. I'm not going to work a lousy shift just so you can work a better one.  It sounds like your co-workers are taking advantage of you.  Only you can stop it.  Tell them you've already made plans or just tell them to go jump in a lake.

Patient, polite, but firm. Your needs are important and need not be explained.
