Goodness I am really beginning to hate my time. It screws your hours over or it over works you to exhaustion with little say. I've decided to go back to putting my foot down on this being a health insurance only job. Just a little above the minimum required hours to allow some call outs but not more than that. For 3 decades I've been operating on late shifts to start of swing shift. Now they have me all over the fri---gen place and it's just getting worse. I decided to set my availablity to start no earlier than 10 am. Good lord I'm not waking up at 4 am. I can't do it. Then open/close shifts. I had to put my life outside of work on hold and I can't do it any more. Just, no.

You also want to be sure to not allow them to work you 7+ day work weeks. Good lord they want to work their staff to exhaustion. You want to request a single day off to prevent them from this bull sh---it.

You have to wonderWhen its hard enough to find good, hard-working people to fill these positions, when your young receiver wants to quit after two months, when the deli people get pulled to do Pickup orders, when department managers are out bringing in carts due to understaffing, and the Gen Zers want nothing to do with jobs in the trades, teaching, factory work and office work, let alone retail it seems these days, how is this technology actually helping the companies who implement it when all it does is frustrate the existing employees, leading them to quit and making a tough situation even worse? How does THAT math add up? Someone explain this to me
