Probably yes. Too bad about Albertson's. Seek out and patronize other stores. Be nice the Albertson'sAlbertson's people and hope for the best.

If Trump gets elected it will go through for sure. Otherwise I doubt it will, but you can bet they'll keep trying to force it through.

Now I'm thinking just the opposite.  Conservatives are against it.

Original poster here. I doubt it will go thru-but what surprises me is that no one has tried to go after Publix and take them over but I think they are a privately held company and not public (?)

Isn't Albertson own by Kroger? I mean I see "Albertson" among the list of Kroger ownership when visiting Kroger page.

With the merger currently on hold due to legal and regulatory issues, its hard to predict what will happen next. The opposition highlights significant issues about potential impacts on prices, competition, and customer service. If the merger does go through, it could reshape the grocery landscape in ways that might not benefit consumers.

If Trump gets elected he'll get rid of the current FTC commissioner and replace her with someone more friendly to big business

Probably destroy or super-relax FDA regulations.  So companies can further skimp out on things like safety and quality.   We all know companies would be more than happy to give us bricked slop if itll make them extra money.
