Your union rep actually has very little control over wages. Most they can do is "suggest" it but that's about it. It's up to the masses to push higher wages when contracts are expired and union is mucking them up in the bargaining process. From my 20's to mid 30's I had 2 pt jobs most of my life because no one wants to pay a livable wages. The industry jobs of the 80/90s is no more and we get degrading under paid work instead. Kroger definitely follows corporation practices and has made that very clear over the years.
UFCW does the best it can with negotiations, but they will not get what the company does not want to give. Even common sense stuff is hard to get. It is a rough, dirty business to deal with Kroger. Imagine trying to negotiate with a hostile foreign government. That is basically what Kroger is. No law. Only violence and every kind and sort of underhanded trick.

The only solace is the feeling that many of them are going to end up in Hell one day.
I asked him if they won't get us a living wage nor full time, why is there a union?
He thanked me for being civil.
They dont care. They already know you lazys make more than you should for doing almost nothing daily. The current pay and hour is more than enough hell it should be take down by 2 bucks an hour if anything.
Paying $1.90 under minimum wage and scheduling less than 12 random hours a week would indeed be very exciting news for the shareholders.
If there's one thing I know about the UFCW, it's that they "negotiate". For "us". "Children". We are children.
I facetimed Perrone, but the second I said $1.90 under minimum wage, he screamed "CAMBODIA!!!" and it sounded like a gyrocopter taking off. It's a distinctive sound.
I was going to make jokes about Rodney, but started thinking that Rodney was right. Yachts are more fun along the way.
