That should be, "a senior". The word, "An" is only used before words that star with a vowel sound: an umbrella, an honor etc. The word, "A" is used before words that start with a consonant sound: a book, a dog, a union, a ukulele. etc. Even trying to say, "an senior" just sounds awkward.
