Where I live, you are only required to show ID if the clerk asks for it and they will only ask for it if you look young. If you're old, middle aged, or the clerk knows you're over 21, they're not going to ask you to show ID.

Thats The way it should be. Asking some 56 year old ass woman for her ID is just stupid and embarrassing.
