I am working 6 days this week, and the holiday falls on Saturday, which is my 6th day for the week. Since the holiday falls on my 6th day, do I get my overtime for my hours over 40, plus holiday OT, plus my 8 hours? I am in the Cincinnati area. Thanks for any input. My work week is Sunday - Saturday.

A few days ago all the managers and dept. managers were called to a morning huddle in the produce dept. And during this huddle, everyone there was required to shuck a certain amount of corn. We were busy as hell and now they want every one to help the best staffed dept. in the store because the produce ma...

I started at Kroger over a week ago and am interested in knowing who to go to for information on my job. My first day I was paired with a lady who had only been there two months but wasn't sure how to use the hand scanner for back stock or creating labels (for untagged merchandise). Long story short I spent th...

So tomorrow will be my first night closing by myself, but no one in the dept. could be assed to explain how to use RF guns to make a CAP sheet. Can someone please help, because I've been searching all over the place for a decent, straightforward set of instructions! I'm so stressed out!

Is making my life as a cashier a living hell. First off, stop freaking covering up the barcodes with those stupid stickers. You're not helping. Secondly. Stop giving away items that are supposed to be on sale with things like "Buy 4 get 1" or something, since then they don't even get the sa...

We have been told that from now on, if a produce item has a barcode, we must scan it instead of keying in the PLU (because they don't trust us to correctly key in organic produce). Our FE manager showed a list of all the cashiers, and what percent of our produce is being hand-scanned (I don't think anyone ha...

This needs to be said somewhere, might as well be here. I work at a moderately sized store. We go through around 800-1500+ (only more on special occasion) cases per night. We only get two trucks a week. That's all fine and dandy. It's fortunate to have a good manager, but to have good management? Now that...

Yesterday I purchased 5 expensive ribeye that I planned tossing on the grill that night. Well immediately after that an emergency came up so I had to leave the steaks in the car for a minute. I left them in the car in 70-80 degree weather for about 50 minutes to an hour. I was just wondering do you guys thi...

Some background: I've been out in the fuel center for a few months. Not a long few months, but enough to no longer feel like I'm floundering everyday. The rest of the crew consists of a student, two older folks that are working this as their second job or just to supplement some income, me (the only full a...

I know many Krogers start out certain positions at minimum wage. The stores/districts where you are forced to pay union dues does that basically mean you are getting paid less than minimum wage after those dues are factored in?

I love how they under schedule a department and then try and bitch at you for failing a customer connect shop. On a sunday our meat and seafood department had 2 people total; for a $20,000 day. We had more everyday of the week but the busiest day we had 2 people all day until 2pm. How do they expect you t...
