Dear Kroger execs, or whoever is doing this, What exactly do you have against us having a set closing time? When I was hired, we closed at 9, had an hour to shut down the deli, and left at 10. But apparently this isn't good enough for you. The thought of "but what about all those customers coming after...

Thanks guys, My situation is unique. I wasn't union (or management). I wont go into is, as it would divulge too much info. Basically, I did track down my record at coporate. (P.S. never do it locally as they are too unprofessional to cough it up.) Basically, I was lied to by my manager and HR when they tol...

I worked 3:30 - 9 yesterday and had to work the parking lot twice, once from 4-5 and again from 7-8. As a Courtesy Clerk I have to be bagging, floating among the check-outs, but that lot can still take some energy out of you. By 8 p.m. when I came back in from the second lot duty I hadn't had a break yet so I gave m...

If someone used to be a department head, then they get demoted, and transferred to another store, do they get to jump ahead in seniority to their hire date, or do they start at the bottom? A (former now :( ) coworker of mine is going to another store as their manager next week, and we are getting their forme...

Ok so i've had insurance for about a year. You have to have an average of 25 hours a week to keep it. After Christmas, I had some weeks where I only got about 20 hours. But I thought everything was fine because nothing ever came in the mail and i kept paying my $6 a week. Today I got something in the mail that say...

My supervisor wrote me up for stealing time, she said i didn't finish enough work on my shift. Stealing time really c'mon man. Is that even possible to steal something that is not possible to put in your pocket or purse or has no monetary value ?

Since I am still new to this business and this store I am still feeling things out. There are still things that I have to learn. So when I walked by before clocking in and was asked by a co-worker to assist you (with you as cashier) in your lane, seeing that it would only take a moment, but NOT knowing that it i...

So, I'm sure y'all know how we're supposed to ID people for tobacco, alcohol, etc? How many people here actually do it? Also, how often do those "police stings" occur where they try to catch cashiers selling the stuff without seeing any ID's? I've never heard of anyone here at my store get...

At your store if you are out of ground round for your service case do you make two trays of sirloin, two trays of chuck or grind sirloin and call it round? Have you ever ground a stick of round and called it chuck?

So Kroger only gives me about 20 hours a week, max, and that's if I am lucky -- I'm bottoming out usually at around 15-16 hours. Yea, it's part-time, I knew that when I took the job, but $500 a month doesn't do much these days. We also have an Ingles in our area and they are hiring for evening stockers. Would i...

I cover a labor relations news beat for the Bloomberg BNA publications Daily Labor Report and Labor Relations Week and am seeking a copy of the proposed agreement between Kroger and UFCW Local 1996 that union members rejected March 20-21, 2014. I want to compare the proposed contract with previous...

Chill out with the micro managing all the sudden. You will never have your own store, you will die a co manager. It is annoying and just makes people laugh at you. It actually makes me work slower just to hear you asking me to do the most obvious things over and over.

I started working in the Nutrition dept about a month ago, and I'm starting to realize it's more like a management job. Whenever i come in at 2pm, my manager stays for about an hour until all the backstock is done, and when she leaves for the day, I'm by myself basically 'managing' the whole department. U...
