Walmart just underwent the first phase of some major upheavals in their management team----they just laid off 3,500 of their shift managers. It's been a real blood game. A lot of these people had been with the company for many years, and are too old to realistically start new and too young to cash out an...

There are two opposing forces in the Kroger corporate office. The CAP people tell you to follow CAP to the letter and only put out what you ne...

Do you find it strange when customers say that this other grocery store (whole foods for example) is selling the same item for less, so they want the item for that price? That is why there are so many grocery stores, they have the same items for different prices, you pick the one that you like the most pro...

I've worked for Smith's since it was family owned and not part of Kroger. Things have changed but still remain the same. Always short staffed, skimp on supplies, equipment, maintenance. Now worse than ever since Kroger bought us out. Tremendous pressure on store level management, district staff a...

Does Kroger use seniority when deciding who gets the day they requested off? For example I'm requesting a holiday off, but I see that several other cashiers have requested the same day off. I have been their longer than they have been. Does seniority matter?

I recently was promoted from Grocery clerk to Assistant Grocery Manager, and have been working as that title for 2 weeks now. Kroger has not changed my job code or updated my pay yet, which is frustrating because it works out to be double pay for me. They had no problem taking away the guys pay who got demo...

Front end manager angry because I don't hang all over her all day or gossip with her or allow her to bully me. I work 16 hours, and opened my availability to work one more day, and she's trying to use the excuse that the Union said she is not obligated to give me more than the minimum I Southwest division. How...
