I work as a cashier, and for several months the baggers/courtesy clerks and cashiers were evaluated on a weekly basis. But all of a sudden this stopped. Except nothing really changed at the front-end. Why does Kroger do that?

I'm starting to think Kroger only hires fat women in the deli. That's a form of shape-ism. The fatter you are, the more likely you'll get the job.

Do you ever find that certain departments always end up with terrible help and lazy employees? I have noticed both deli and front end end up with the laziest people around. Night crew sometimes has the same issue.
