I called into work sick Friday morning at 8 for my 10 a.m. shift, like were supposed to. Spoke to a manager (the store manager, not a co-manager or assistant)like were supposed. He tells me to bring my excuse if I go to the doctor. Thought all was well. So at 10:30 I get a call from the store asking if I'm...

I've worked in grocery for some time as day stocker until someone from night crew decided to take my (only available) shifts as full time (contrary to my part-time status). As a result, they've moved me to the Front End "until more grocery hours are provided". Now, I only agreed because w...

I started near the end of January just before the Georgia snow storm, I was a courtesy Clerk for half a year but finished my cashier training and got on a register the Saturday of training week. My first day alone I got an elms or 86, my first full week (snow storm week) I got 84, but the next week I got an elms o...

I feel that my boss put me non-rehireable for a krogers, but i can't be sure. another manager said that non-rehireable is given by managers. it is not in the work file but is a red flag when a perspective manager brings up the job application for the non-rehireable candidate. how can one find out if they...

hello fellow Kroger employees, i work in district M of the Michigan division. It seems we almost never have people getting their raises, premiums, or top rate adjustments on time. The company always gives "Retro pay," but it sometimes takes weeks or even months, and when it is brought to m...

I'm a front end employee. On occasion when I'm assigned to clean the bathrooms, I do run into customers that ask if we have more stock of a particular product in the back room. Is it worth rummaging through all of our stuff looking for whatever they want? I usually tell them that we're out or I refer them to...

Me and 8 other employees were assembling patio furniture in our store. The 3 managers overseeing it informed us if we needed a tool or two to take it off the shelf, which I never knew was possible. Our Drug and GM manager informed me to take a pair of pliers off the shelf to help with removing caps and such to...

Just curious about some of the keyboard functions. I asked my FES and he couldn't give me a real answer so I thought I'd ask here. What does the FS/NO FS button do? What's the difference between the TAX/NO TAX and the DISCOUNT/TAX EXEMPT BUTTONS? We recently got the new keyboard layout, am I ever gonna ne...

Shortly after I posted the schedule on Friday one of my necessary full time people came in with a doctor's note saying she needed to be off the following week. Yes, it's legit. So I had to redo the schedule. The problem is E-Schedule wouldn't let me change it because it said the schedule had already...

I have just noticed in the last few weeks Kroger is advertising on TV. Up until now I haven't seen Kroger advertise on TV since the 1980s, when I started working for them. I was wondering if anyone else has seen any TV commercials.

when someone who has terrorized you and made your work experience miserable for 4 years gets fired! It's been 3 weeks now and we have many new hires, and without her around to turn people against me I've actually made a lot of new friends. I'm so happy. I feel like a weight has been lifted off of me.

So the girl in the bakery/deli who was suspended after shoving a guy in the deli got her job back! How I don't know. At her grievance hearing the dept. head and back up were allowed to speak and a girl who know longer works there was allowed to speak on her behalf, but NONE of the four witnesses who saw her s...

I recently got hired at Kroger, I am wondering what to expect during training starting off as a courtesy clerk?? How soon after training can I work? Is there a limited number of hours I can get since I'm new? (I'm aiming for 35-40 hrs if possible)

The new bakery section opened in January. It's huge. Before we expanded, our budget was around $12,000 or more per week. It's probably more now. Anyway, we are slowly sinking because they didn't hire any help before the expansion. We're short about 100 hours. We have one full time decorator...
